TNA starting to branch out which I think is cool as I"ll post the results that were posed by somebody on lords of pain as it's clear they have ways to go to have a successful house show program with production & etc.
Match 1 - Chris Sabin defeated Sonjay Dutt to retain
the X Divsion Championship. Pretty decent match. Too
bad the crowd really seemed uninterested.
Match 2 - Wildcat Chris Harris and Gail Kim defeated
Cowboy James Storm and Jackie Moore. Watching Gail and
Jackie wrestle was so much more entertaining than that
Wrestlemania Women's Title match I suffered through
last weekend.
Match 3 - Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels defeated
Petey Williams. Nice bout. After the match, Daniels
returned to the ring to punish Petey a little more.
Petey reverses into Canadian Destroyer. It really is
an awesome move to see live.
Match 4 - Brother Ray defeated The Naturals in what
ended up being a handicapped match. Brother D-Von was
supposedly in the back but Ray couldn't find him. Ray
asked the Naturals for more time. They agreed. But as
soon as Ray goes to look for his brother, both Chase
and Stevens attack and the match begins 2 on 1. A
funny spot saw the Naturals try and attack referee
Rudy Charles, but Charles retaliated with a double
clothesline. Bubba hits powerbomb through a table to
win it. He actually had to do the powerbomb twice to
break the thing.
Match 5 - Rhino defeated A.J. Styles in a Mississippi
Street Fight. Couldn't really see much of this match.
It was mostly fought on the floor opposite where I was
sitting. Rhino wins with a Gore on the entranceway.
Match 6 - Kurt Angle defeated Abyss. I didn't realize
how big Abyss really is. At any rate, Angle won this
one with a sunset flip.
Match 7 - Christian Cage defeated Samoa Joe to retain
the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Joe made Cage tap,
but ref was distracted by A.J. Styles. When Joe went
after Styles, Cage won with a rollup from behind, with
feet on the ropes. After the match, Styles and Cage
teamed up on Joe. Rhino came to the rescue. Then comes
Abyss. Then comes Angle. Team Angle clears the ring
and leaves. Then the music of Christian Cage plays as
Team Cage leaves the ring. Christian holds his belt
above his head on the way to the back to end the show.
Notes - Probably around 1500 in attendance. Crowd was
dead most of the night. Some decently loud pops for
Angle, of course. The audio was horrible. You couldn't
understand Borash during intros. All in all, a decent
show, but I still believe virtually all TNA fans are
WWE fans first, myself included. That was evidenced by
the number of DX T-shirts that I saw. Other things of
interest, Brother Ray signed autographs at the
merchandise stand after his match. Sabin, Dutt, Petey
Williams, and Jeremy Borash signed after the show.
